Rant 03 Sonic and why I like him

Almost everyone wants Sonic's head on a plate, figuratively speaking of course, although some people like to stress that they mean it literally, but I don't believe that people are that fucked up on the internet, that's like some person bragging about how emo they are, if they need to gloat about it, there's something wrong.
Anyway, I've been a Sonic fan since '93, probably sooner, but I've no memory of those earlier times, I was smack dab in the middle of the Golden Age of gaming, and Sonic was where it was at, I loved my Sega Genesis and all the games I had on it, I had an NES too, which I played just as often, but I didn't have nearly as much games. I didn't care for SNES, save for Super Mario World, there was no good SNES game that I've played, they all sucked to me, so I stuck with Sonic, In my earlier years I was a bone fide Sonic fangirl, I was excited to even know of a new game coming out.
I liked almost every Sonic game I've played, even to this day, not being a total biased fan, I still enjoy those games, I'm including most 3D titles as well. However I have played some bad Sonic games, Sonic Spinball on the Game Gear is just plain horrible, as is Sonic Blast, Tails' SkyPatrol, and Sonic Labyrinth, all also on the Game Gear. I'm sure everyone was expecting me to name some 3D games, but the only one that I really don't like is Sonic 06, the game felt too early, my guess was that the game's deadline was rushed up at the last minute to slap it off as a launch title, which was a bad idea in the long run, the loading times need no introduction at this point, the game was glitchy, the gameplay was unreliable, stiff controls, and a horrible camera, ironically this was the game that people said that fixed the notorious camera issues in 3D Sonic games, but this was the one 3D title in which the camera constantly got in my way and lead to me losing rings or dying, destroying my chances at a high ranking, the game as a whole is just frustrating. The best thing about the game is the sound track.
Just listen to that bad rock music that people always bitch about.
It catches my ear.
But I digress in this particular section, the bottom line is, I am a Sonic fan, a proud one too, I enjoy the games and will defend them if it calls for it. I have played bad Sonic games, or Sonic games that just didn't appeal to me, a Sonic fan.
I respect the opinion of anyone who thinks otherwise, always have, but of course this is the internet, and people feel the need to douche up an otherwise mature disposition. I come by some people who just don't like Sonic anymore, for viable reasons, and that's enough, but most people just go way to far, wishing for the death of Sonic fans, assuming they're all 12-14 year old furfags with bad grammar, blaming them for keeping the franchise alive that they so dearly want dead, the list goes one. From the perspective of a legit Sonic fan, do I need to explain how much of a pain in the ass this is to read on a daily basis?
Again, I cannot stress enough that I respect others' opinions, but seriously now? The rules just seem to change without any proper prompt or consistency when Sonic is involved. I've heard some of the most ridiculous fucking arguments to why the Sonic franchise should end, and confusing enough, people agree with them, it's like almost everyone's IQ subtracts by 150 when Sonic is even mentioned, I don't get it.
You can't even have a mature conversation about Sonic that's not in the Sonic Crew anymore, if his name is even mention, these dumbasses come in droves, like they fucking carpooled their way to the thread, it's a recurring facepalm moment, there is no more intelligence anymore, just Sonic, people go back and forth just go about flaming each other, clashing opinions like it's fact, of course I hold my ground and defend Sonic when needed, and don't misunderstand me, this in no way puts me in the leagues of the flamebait that the other defenders create, I simply set the record straight, and it seems like every time I do, it either gets completely ignored, or it become (one of) the last post(s) in the thread, as if no one can come up with a credible reason to debate with me on the subject, I make sure I make sound points that are coherent even to a non-Sonic fan, and after that there is but silence.
I don't know what to make of that, but the fact that I need to step in is ridiculous, stupid shit like that can spark from someone just trying to ask a question regarding Sonic, a completely legit one that's not stupid or misinformed at all, and then it happens. But oh boy, don't get me started on the questions, someone actually asked did Sonic belong to Nintendo.
I don't know how any intelligent person can come to that conclusion, so naturally, he was an idiot and was made fun of by Sonic fans and haters alike, not only that, I recall stepping across a post in the Sonic Crew of some guy saying that the franchise needed to end.
Real original right?
Anyway, just listen to his reason for why.
"Because most Sonic fans are annoying 14 year olds"
"Because he's Nintendo's bitch"
I don't even need to comment! Shit's the blood from your hymen, it's fucking horrible and was in no way, by any definition or value, credible or even remotely sound and coherent.
For one, why is a specific, assume age group a reason to close a franchise???
For two, how the hell is he Nintendo's bitch? Because of his cameo in Super Smash Bros Brawl? That was a massive fan request and Nintendo even wanted him in, so doesn't that make Nintendo Sonic's bitch? Even worse, Snake also cameos in Brawl, and Hideo Kojima begged for Snake to be in, so doesn't that make Snake Nintendo's bitch--AND Sony's? Maybe it's because Sonic is featured on a lot of Nintendo Consoles, namely the Wii at this point.
Sony aside, Microsoft has a fairly big library of Sonic games, along with Nintendo, so I guess Sonic is Microsoft's bitch too, right?
Doesn't fucking make any sense, even more so than the fact that this was a reason he gave to end the franchise.
At this point, it's all starting to look the same, the reasons coincide and now I wonder if people really think this way, or did they just hop on the hedgehog hating bandwagon for "teh lulz". Then they have the audacity to hate All Sonic fans, assuming them all to be fucking fanboys.
To begin with, how in any sense of logic is it wrong to be a fan of something, Should I hate Fallout 3 fans, because I refuse to acknowledge the game as an rpg!? No! That's stupid! I'm sure anyone else would agree that that is stupid! I don't get it, not only do they target the stereotypical age group and mark them as annoying, they target us older players too and call us all fanboys. What the hell!? If there was a Video Game term for internal racism, this would be the shining definition, it's one thing to hate Sonic, but the Sonic fans!? And why? Because we like Sonic?
By some undefined logic that makes us all 14 year old furfags with a discredible bias for Sonic.
Give me a break! What part of that makes sense.
Again, don't misunderstand me, I'm not defending the Sonic fans, I'm defending Sonic, I say this because some of the fans are awkwardly irritating to be around, they give mature Sonic fans like me a bad/nonexistent name, it's like "Shut up, you bastard", these people more than likely do fit the derogatory assumptions made about all Sonic fans, and are angered at that and just start flaming people left and right, that shit doesn't help, then it's stops being about Sonic in general.
Not all Sonic fans are furries, I'm not including myself, I am a furry, shit's kinda hot in all honesty, but Sonic furry porn is disgusting to me and Sonic was never a product of my fetish for it, however I do know Sonic fans who aren't furries so I vouch on their behalf
Second we all aren't "fanboys", what's so wrong with being a simple, legit fan of the series, people for some reason feel that because they hate him, everyone else should, but don't just to piss the people who hate him off.

When Sonic is mentioned, at least on Newgrounds, then it turns into a "stupid convention" that the people were only smart enough to arrive there, after that, it's like "What the hell happened to this site?" Some people actually have lost reason to hate Sonic, seeing how they've never played a Sonic game in years, but even so, no one ever says what they'd like in a new game, they just want the 2D shit back, well, there are emulators, roms, arcade games, collection games, fan games and re-releases up the ass to compensate for all that, so, pick another, motherfucker!
I always liked the games, save for the bad ones I mentioned, and I think Sonic Unleashed was a huge step in the right direction, in fact, alot of other people did too, for some reason, it was received poorly by almost every gaming magazine and it's like they weren't bitching about the same old same old, they were finding new shit to complain about, almost as if they didn't want to like the game so just pulled out some half-ass reasons to make it sound bad, some of their complaints were just plain wrong and opinionated, and like the brain sucking power that is Sonic, dumbass started agreeing with them, then tried to use such reviews as credible be all end all statements, and I'm all like, "They're just some asshole's opinion, what makes his anymore sensible than yours!?"

I just don't get it, people are just dumb, they have a bias against Sonic and other people have a bias for Sonic, and being the voice of reason does jack shit when you're not a moderator on the boards.
It's just retarded, a giant cake of shit and vomit.
